Debug Your Mind

La Ciociara (1962)

Posted by Ştefan Alexandrescu on June 24, 2011

This is a classic movie starring Sophia Loren in an Oscar-winning performance. Directed by Vittorio DeSica, a great Italian film author, brings to the screen the written story of a mother and a daughter travelling together in Italy during WWII. Between crossfires, air attacks, tanks and infantery, they strive to survive.

Maybe something to think about before acclaiming any war. The movie offers an insight perspective on what the war is like when you live it for real. It deserves to be seen in order to get an idea of what to expect when the next war comes to where you live.

Although not a great movie, it is one of those which might make you think. The characters are well-defined and their tragedy of dying inside is a story about losing the innocence. A good movie about wars, without being a war movie, but rather a good drama.

My vote: 6 / 10 (Good movie).

Enjoy thinking about it!
